“Section 179 is really very simple – you buy or lease qualifying equipment and/or software, and then take a full tax deduction on it this year.”

The deadline? From Section 179 FAQs:

Check out this link for the details, but the guideline is as follows: "…for tax year 2011, the equipment [or software] must be put into service between 01/01/2011 and 12/31/2011."
